Supply check
Cafiza coffee detergent
Biocaf milk frother cleaner
Grindz grinder cleaner
☕ Espresso Machine
Backflush group heads
Insert blind basket, add 1 tsp Cafiza, run 5–6 short cycles per group. Removes coffee oils and prevents solenoid valve issues.
Clean portafilters & baskets
Remove baskets and springs. Soak in hot water and Cafiza solution. Rinse and wipe dry before reassembling. Old coffee oils turn rancid overnight.
Purge & wipe steam wands
Purge wand after every milk drink. At close, remove and soak steam tip and wand in Biocaf solution. Scrub and rinse thoroughly. Milk residue damages steam valves.
Empty & clean drip tray
Prevents overflow and odors. Keeps workstation sanitary.
Clean shower screens
Remove screens, scrub with nylon brush, reinstall securely. Soak in Cafiza for stubborn residues. Dirty screens cause uneven extraction and channeling.
⚙️ Grinder
Purge the chute
Run a few grams of coffee through to clear stale grounds from the chute before opening and after closing.
Wipe hopper & grind chamber
Wipe down the hopper exterior and grind chamber opening with a dry cloth. Remove any clumped grounds around the chute exit.
Check grind consistency
Pull a test shot and check extraction time (target 25–30 seconds). Adjust burrs if shots are running too fast or too slow.
Empty & clean grounds bin
Empty the grounds bin completely. Wipe dry — moisture causes mold. Do not leave old grounds sitting overnight.
🧹 General Station
Wipe down all surfaces
Clean the bar top, machine exterior, and grinder surfaces with a food-safe sanitizer cloth.
Clean & store milk pitchers
Rinse all pitchers with hot water. Soak in Biocaf solution. Rinse thoroughly and store inverted to dry.

⚠️ Preventative care that avoids costly breakdowns. Schedule time for these every 3 months.
☕ Espresso Machine
Inspect group gaskets
Look for cracking, flattening, or stiffness. Replace if portafilters leak. If portafilter handle creeps past 4 o'clock when locked, the gasket is at end of life.
Inspect water filtration system
Verify filter capacity and change schedule. Check for leaks or pressure drops. Test water hardness and TDS — water quality is the single biggest factor in machine longevity.
Inspect steam tips & valves
Ensure tip holes are clear. Watch for slow-closing or leaking steam valves — these waste water and affect milk texture.
Deep clean group heads
Full overnight soak of group head components in Cafiza solution. Inspect and replace shower screens if worn.
⚙️ Grinder
Inspect & clean burrs
Remove burrs and clean with a dry brush. Inspect for chipping or dulling. Dull burrs produce inconsistent grind and affect extraction quality.
Deep clean grind chamber
Use Grindz or similar grinder cleaning tablets. Run through the grinder per manufacturer instructions to remove coffee oil buildup.
Check grinder calibration
After cleaning, recalibrate grind setting. Pull test shots and confirm extraction time is back in the 25–30 second range.

📅 Schedule these once a year — critical for long-term machine reliability and warranty protection.

Schedule preventative service with a technician
Annual tech visit should include: boiler inspection, pressurestat/PID verification, safety valve inspection, pump performance check, electrical and heating element inspection, group head flow rate check.
Replace group gaskets
Replace regardless of appearance — gaskets harden over time even if they look fine. Use manufacturer-spec gaskets only.
Replace shower screens
Even with daily cleaning, shower screens wear out. Replace annually to maintain even water distribution and extraction quality.
Replace steam tips
Check tip holes for enlargement or irregular wear. Replace if milk texture has degraded or steam output feels weak.
Replace water filters
Replace on schedule even if water tastes fine — expired filters stop protecting against scale and can void your machine warranty.
⚙️ Grinder
Replace burrs
Commercial burrs typically need replacement after 500–1,000 lbs of coffee. If you're grinding 5+ lbs/day, replace annually. Dull burrs cost you in coffee waste and inconsistency.
Full grinder disassembly & clean
Remove all removable parts. Clean with dry brush and food-safe cleaner. Inspect internal components for wear. Reassemble and recalibrate.
